The bus stop Sørvågen vest is close to the starting point of the hike. You can use https://www.reisnordland.no/ for finding travel times to this stop. It is also easy to park your car close to the starting point.

Information about the hike

This hike features a variety of landscapes including waterfalls, low vegetation with an abundance of bilberries in the summer season, forests with small trees, big lakes and impressive mountain peaks. Both the ascend and descend has quite steep sections.

The hike starts from the village Sørvågen and takes you to Munkebu hut. The Munkebu hut is an unstaffed hut which is only accessible with a DNT key. The hike is however perfectly possible without accessing the hut if you plan to go back and forth in one day.
