Getting there
At the time of writing (07/2023) there is a minibus driving between Bansko and Vihren hut multiple times daily. Hours and prices can be found at the following website https://visit-bansko.bg/en/helpful/line-bansko-vihren. Getting there by car can only be done before 08h00 as the police will stop you halfway up the mountain pass if you pass their control after that time to limit the amount of cars parked near the hut.

Information about the hike
This hike to the iconic Vihren mountain, the highest peak of the Pirin mountain range, will reward you with stunning views over Pirin on a clear day.
This route is a circular hike which is nicer than the classic "out and back" route which most people take. Follow the GPS track towards direction of Kazana shelter on the way to the peak, meaning that you take the northern route on the way up.
You will see the famous "Koncheto" ridge very well on a clear day if you look back on your way up Vihren.
Although Vihren is many times in the clouds, the views from the peak on a clear day are extremely rewarding.
You can also walk a few hundred meters near the peak on a ridge for some great views towards the east.
Be careful on the way down as the path has many small stones which can be slippery.
