Information about the hike
This short hike in Strandzha Nature Park goes along the coast line in the southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea. The landscape varies between paths through grassy hills, beaches and forests. Wonderful views toward small beaches and bays are observed during this hike.
Proper hiking shoes and hiking sticks are recommended as there are a few steeper parts which can be slippery because of small rocks. Another reason to gear up with hiking shoes and sticks is because of the potential snakes you may encounter. In July & August there can be an abundance of small flies in the forest, so it's best to avoid this hike around that time of the year.
The proposed route involves crossing a fence. It is best to notify the border police up front that you will be walking there as it is an area which is very close to the Turkish border. The fence is near the hike's southernmost point, so it's also possible to simply turn back when reaching the fence.
