Getting to the starting point is easiest by car. There is a parking space at the starting point which is paid in high season.

Information about the hike
This hike goes to one of the highest peaks in the Rila National Park, namely Malyovitsa. The peak is at an altitude of 2729 meters, making it around 200 meters lower than Mussala, the highest point in Rila. Because of its height it grants you views in all directions over the Rila mountains.
The terrain has many rocks, so it's good to wear proper hiking shoes. It's good to be prepared with sun protection as most of the route is exposed to sunlight. Follow the blue signs and later the red signs to follow the suggested GPS track to the peak. It's good to keep watching out for signs as it's easy to get off the track. The route is however quite well marked.
