Getting there
This one day hike is perfectly fit for with public transportation. At the time of writing (2021) a return ticket from Sofia central station to Egalnitsa costs 7.10 BGN (~3.60 EUR). There is a stopover in Radomir. The current schedule can be checked at bdz.bg/en.

Information about the hike
The public transportation friendly hike to the little church at Pchelina lake is easy and offers stunning views on the lake and the forests surrounding it. This hike is a true delight on a nice spring or autumn day. During summer it's usually not recommended as it can be very hot becaues the path at a fairly low elevation and exposed to the sun all the time.
The only downside of this hike is that cars can reach the church, so on weekends it's not so pleasant as some people are lazy and will use the car to get there. Needless to say, this causes noise and also dust to fly up.
