Information about the hike

The hike to Dragovski Kamik peak is a half day hike at about one hour driving from Sofia. This hike is perfect for getting some sun in the colder months of the year since most of the route is exposed. The walk totals about 5km distance and has some steep parts. It is possible to skip some of the steepest parts by following the arrows indicating "ОБХОД", which translates as detour. The route is marked very well with red marks. The highest point, Dragovski Kamik (1118m), is perfect for eating your lunch or snacks with a great view. On a clear day, you can see the mountains at the Serbian border in the west, Vitosha in the south-east and the Rila mountains.

Dragovski Kamik is also known as "Tran's Matterhorn", because of its similar look to the Alpine mountain Matterhorn. You might notice this on your drive when you approach the village Tran.
