Bus 64 can take you to the starting point (БОЯНСКО ХАНЧЕ, Boyansko Hanche, https://schedules.sofiatraffic.bg/autobus/64). There is also a place where you can park a Spark car at the starting point.
This hike to the Boyana waterfall is one of the best accessible hikes from Sofia. The hike features an ascend next to a river with rocky terrain in some places. Once you reach the waterfall, the eastern path can take you back to the starting point. This path will pass by an amazing viewpoint over Sofia. The track also passes the Boyana lake, which is thriving with life inside.
It is good to follow the GPS track in the way that you take the westernmost path uphill. This path is more steep and the terrain is more difficult compared to the eastern path. This makes the westernmost path the better choice for ascending.
In winter however, it is best to avoid the westernmost path altogether, due to its steep cliffs.
