Information about the hike
This route starts at Aleko hut and takes you to Cherni Vrah, the peak of the Vitosha mountain. It's a nice and straightforward circular hike during which you approach the peak from the south-east and descend back to Aleko Hut towards the north-east. I prefer this route for going to Cherni Vrah, because it gives you a nicer variety of landscapes and paths than the most popular route does. The path which you follow during the ascend, is usually not so busy.
Once you reach Cherni Vrah, you can go for a warm soup or tea in the hut. The hut is usually open.
The first part of the path which you take for the descend can be relatively busy when the weather is nice. Halfway the descend, the suggested track diverges from the wider path on a steeper, more narrow path. This section is less popular. If you prefer a more gentle descend, you can keep left to follow a slightly longer but easier path back to Aleko hut.
